A 29-year-old man was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a tractor-trailer pulling out of a business in Manchester Township this morning.
Daniel J. Coulson, of York, was pronounced dead just before 8 a.m. Friday at the scene by the York County Coroner's Office.
The man died of multiple blunt force trauma, according to deputy coroner Mary Breighner. He was wearing a helmet, she said.
Coulson was driving a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle which hit a tractor-trailer pulling out of a business into the 3400 block of Board Road, police said. The motorcycle slid underneath the trailer, became entangled in the axles and burst into flames, said Northern York County Regional Police Chief Carl Segatti.
Coulson was thrown from the motorcycle, he said.
Witnesses say Coulson was travelling at a high rate of speed before the crash, Segatti said.
The crash remains under investigation.
Additional details about the crash will be posted as they become available.
