York County Democrats will hold their annual Grassroots Picnic at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Chestnut Oak Pavilion at Rocky Ridge County Park.

The event is free, includes activities for all ages and is part of a national "Democratic Reunion" day. Everyone is invited to share in the fun and food and to meet Democratic candidates for the November election.

Local attendees should bring a beverage and a covered dish to share. County Commissioner Doug Hoke will supply hot dogs and hamburgers. York's is one of 22 Democratic Reunion events scheduled in Pennsylvania for Saturday.
